I’m an African American and I’ve had hair loss in the front and temples for many years. Do you have experience with this. Will you treatment help?

JoEllen –
In my many years in hair restoration I have seen similar patterns of hair loss in ethnic hair. Often this condition is caused by a hairstyle that results from hair being pulled tightly away from the scalp or put into tight braids. Commonly called ‘Traction Alopecia’ the tension of this hairstyle can cause permanent damage. Another common cause of hair loss with African American patients is damage to the hair and scalp from over processing with relaxers and perms. However, if the hair is simple weak, fine and/or brittle, you could find Laser Hair Therapy a good treatment option. A good option for permanent damage is hair transplantation. It often takes a minimum amount of ‘donor’ hair to restore the temples and front.
Let me know where you live and I’ll refer you to an expert in your area.
